No condemnation:
Romans 8:1-2
1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from
the law of sin and of death.
Before Jesus, the sins that we
committed had us in bondage. We felt condemnation because of them. We knew fear
of death, for that is what we deserved. But now we’ve been set free from the
fear of death and the bondage of sin. No one and nothing can condemn us. We no
longer have a list of dos and don’ts that we have to try to obey in our own
strength. We have the Holy Spirit indwelling us to help us overcome temptation.
It is actually harder in our own strength to live the Christian life than to
obey the Law, but through His power it is easier.
If you could hear God speak, I believe this is what He would
say:
"There
is nothing that you have done that cannot be forgiven. There is nothing that
you will do that will not be forgiven. You are the life and light of the world.
Without you, the world would die. It is only alive now because of you. There
will come a time when you will be gone, and then the world will die. It cannot
die as long as you are in it; for it must remain until the time. The time draws
near, but is not yet. Occupy until I come. You are free from all sin and all
the things of the world; but you can let them weigh you down if you do not
resist the temptation to follow after the paths of sin instead of
righteousness.”
95. I am in Christ
Jesus. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for me.
